Since the economy tanked, what have you done to control health care costs?

08/16/2011

About 60% of respondents to our HR Weekly poll say they have tried to address rising health insurance costs by requiring employees to pay more, changing carriers or both. But 38% say they haven’t taken such steps, maintaining coverage essentially as it was before the Great Recession began.

  • 38% Nothing – coverage is essentially unchanged
  • 31% Increased employee premiums, co-pays and/or deductibles
  • 14% Changed carriers
  • 17% Both of the above

None of our respondents say they have dropped health benefits entirely in response to rising costs.
